What is styx records?

Styx Records was a record label that was initially founded in 1972 by the American rock band Styx, consisting of members such as Dennis DeYoung, Tommy Shaw, James Young, Chuck Panozzo, John Panozzo, and Glen Burtnik. The label was created as a platform for the band to release and distribute their own music independently, without the intervention of major record companies.

Styx Records was responsible for the release of several of the band's most successful albums, including "The Grand Illusion", "Pieces of Eight", and "Paradise Theater", among others. These albums, which were released in the 1970s and 1980s, helped to establish Styx as one of the leading bands in the progressive rock genre at the time.

Following the departure of some of its key members, the band decided to end its association with the label in 1984. Today, Styx Records no longer exists as a standalone record label, but the band continues to record and perform music under the Sony Music Entertainment label.
